My First ASP.Net Book+My Supportive Sister+My Supportive Husband=Our First Website

I've worked with different companies for almost eight years before I got married and I've worked for them as an RPG programmer. RPG works on an AS400 so all you can see is the green and black monitor. I've never tried shifting in to any other programming language specifically those that runs in a PC. I am so lazy to study new technologies but recently I got interested in learning the ASP.net. Almost everything you need now is in the NET that's why I thought I should know how it works.
I have a little knowledge of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) which provides an easy means to locate and access cross-platform documents called Web pages. If you know HTML you can already create a simple website but all pages are static. Static web page displays the same content for all users. It's not that really difficult to learn HTML so I used it at first to create our website.
What surprised me more was that I realized it's harder to create a design rather than to program the site. It took me three designs before I finally came up with the best one. Though I'm not good in writing I still want to put my journals in our site so I thought if I use HTML every time I add a new journal I would create a new page which is not right. I needed an application I could use to create a dynamic page because the website I want changes its content every now and then.
My sister works as an ASP.net developer in the US and I admire her so much because she learned it all by herself...just by reading books and searching in the internet for other references. I was inspired by her so I tried. I immediately went to the bookstore. There are lots of books about ASP.NET that it took me hours to find what I needed --- for beginners. While on my way home, I started reading it. Was I too excited? It's not that obvious huh hahaha I am always like that whenever I try new things. At first the excitement is in the maximum level but after few days it goes down until I loose interest in it but I hope this one is different. So far, I'm still enjoying what I am doing. There are so many things in my mind that I would like to do in my website so the challenge is always there. I love challenges. I do not settle for less. I always make sure everything is perfectly running that's why these past few days I slept so late. I can't sleep whenever I left something undone.
The book I got is pretty much helpful for me but of course the internet makes it easier. I am so grateful also that I have a very supportive sister. I won't be able to finish our first website without her help. Even if she's busy with her work, she still manages to help me and answer all my questions. The fact that we talk through skype makes it more difficult for her but she doesn't mind at all. She is still willing to help me. I owe her so much and I love her more!
This will not be possible without of course the support of my husband. I love him so much for giving me everything that I needed. Creating a website does not only require knowledge in programming or designing, financial support is much needed. You cannot run your website without getting a server to host it. You cannot have your own website name without getting a domain name. All these you have to pay. I am so grateful to my husband. He's been very supportive all these years in whatever I do.
So far, all the feedbacks I got regarding our first website were overwhelming and it motivates me to keep it up and continue learning. Thanks to those who visited our first website and I hope you visit it again and again.
